Current vacancies:

Director - Healthwatch Worcestershire

Do you care about the way health and social care services are run in Worcestershire? Would you like to play a part in making these services better for all? If so, we need you!

Healthwatch Worcestershire is an independent champion for people who use health and social care services across the county. It was set up in 2013 to listen to people’s experiences of health and social care services and share what we hear with commissioners and providers of services to help bring about improvements.

Why not join us as a Director and help make a difference to communities across Worcestershire.

We are currently recruiting for a Director to join our Board based in Worcestershire for a minimum of 14.6 hours per week (scheduled to meet the needs of the business by arrangement with the Chair) for £11,420 per annum.

What is the role?

A Director’s term of office is initially for 4 years but subject to the contract with Worcestershire County Council. A Director has a role in the running of the Company as well as in delivering the business of Healthwatch Worcestershire. The role will involve attending meetings in-person across Worcestershire and Herefordshire and online during the daytime and occasionally evenings and weekends.

What do you need?

Available time, common sense and to care that those around you get good quality health and social care services when they need them. Ideally you should live or work in Worcestershire.

We are looking for someone who is committed to addressing unfairness in health and social care provision, can communicate well, and are able to listen in a supportive and non-judgemental way. Experience of either adult social care or adult mental health services would be advantageous (this could be either clinical/professional experience or lived experience as a patient, carer or service user).

As a Director, you will bring your experience, knowledge and skills to our board. If you haven’t been a Director before we will ensure you are given a thorough induction to the role.

How do you apply?

We welcome applications from people of all ages and backgrounds. We would particularly welcome applications from people with lived experience of using health and social care services in Worcestershire as well as those from the county’s diverse and multi-ethnic communities.
